PARTS OF SPEECH
When we talk, we use sentences. These sentences are made up of words. Words are divided into eight parts of speech according to their use in a sentence.

Noun
Some words are names of some person, place or thing. These are called Nouns
Ex:-
1)
Delhi
is the capital of India
2)
Kolkata
is the bigger city in India
3)
The boy
plays hockey
4)
My brother lives in Mumbai
5)
Sharma
has many books
6)
Kalidas
was a great poet of india
In this sentences
Nouns are Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, India is names of place and Sharma, Kalidas
are names of persons.
KINDS OF NOUNS
There are five kinds of nouns
2) Common Noun
3) Collective Noun
4) Material Noun
5) Abstract Noun
Proper Noun:-
Is the name of a particular Person, Place of
thing, as Raju, Sharma, Diwali, Shyam.
Common Noun:-
Is the name common to every person or thing of
the same kind or class, as :boy girl, teacher, pen, book.
Collective Noun:-
Is the name of a number of
similar things taken together and spoke as one.
Ex: - a flock, a
dozen, a score.
Material Noun:-
Is the name of some material of
which things are made.
Ex: - iron, gold, wheat
Abstract Noun:-
Is the name of a quality, condition, an action or an idea.
Ex: - love, honesty, joy,
sad
KINDS OF PRONOUNS
Personal Pronouns
- I work with my tools.
- These tools are mine.
- We study in a school.
- Our school is the best in the city.
- People like me for my good work.
Three Persons
The pronouns I, my, me, we, our,
us, mine and ours in present the person or persons speaking. They are called
Pronouns of the First Person.
The
Pronouns you, your, yours, thee, they in represent the person or persons spoken
to.they are called Pronouns of the Second Person.
The
pronouns he, she, it, his, him, they, there, them, hers and theirs in above
represent the persons or things spoken of. They are called pronouns of the Third Person.
REFLEXIVE
PRONOUNS
In
this action goes from one person/thing to another. The same person forms the
subject and object. The action comes back to the doer.’ Herself’ and ‘Ourselves’
which are objectives are called Reflexive Pronouns.
Ex: -
- She saw the picture.
- She saw herself in the mirror.
- We help ourselves.
- We help them.
